his Wheatear was spotted on Eilean na h-Aiteig, Oldshoremore, over the May Day Bank Holiday.

These are very attractive birds and can often be seen in groups of a dozen or more.

This little beastie is a Sea Slater (ligia oceanica), a common type of woodlouse found by the shore.
It was spotted on Polin beach in Feb 2010 and is about an inch long.

These as yet unidentified millipedes periodically appear in huge numbers.
