Loch Clash Pier

Loch Clash was the original commercial and maritime heart of the village. Fish were landed and sold on the pier until the new harbour facilities were built. Commercial goods were brought in to Kinlochbervie by boat. All that is left now of the original buildings that lined the front are two former salmon-drying sheds and net stores.

The majority of Loch Clash Pier is owned by the community and is home to a small campervan site (Loch Clash Stopover). The chemical waste disposal point is open to all for a small charge. The jetty at the end of the pier is owned by Highland Council is a popular spot for fishing. Nearby you will find picnic sites, a café and a well-stocked SPAR shop.  Remember that the pier is a "working place" and the space is shared with creel boats and occasional Highland Council vehicles.

Loch Clash has a small rocky beach (sandy at low tide) which is popular with local children. There is also easy access for kayakers. There are no guarantees but you might spot seals and occasionally otters, dolphins and whales.  A view of Eilean Roan (“Seal Island”) and the  ocean can be had from beach and pier.

There are good visitor facilities at the older harbour at Loch Clash where you will find a café, shop, picnic spots and camper van parking. A view of Eilean Roan (“Seal Island”) and the western ocean can be had from beach and pier.
