26-07-13 Flash Floods
The damage was being assessed this week after a flash flood left the village hall knee deep in muddy water.

Just days after a very successful Gala Day, a sudden shower of heavy rain overwhelmed the drainage system and poured out onto Manse Road, down the bank and into the village hall and pre-school nursery.

More than 17mm of rain fell in the space of just a few minutes around teatime on Wednesday, 24 July 2013.

The village hall was flooded throughout whilst wheelie bins were left floating around the carpark or were washed down onto the football pitch by the force of the water.

Damage to the hall is extensive and likely to cost thousands of pound to put right.
