|After a longer than expected stay in Kinlochbervie Chris Brooks, round-Britain sailor, finally set off for Cape Wrath on Friday morning.|
Chris's stay here was not without drama as his tiny catamaran was battered by gales resulting in a broken mast. He was then faced with the problem of getting a replacement mast from Essex to Kinlochbervie.
Chris successfully set off from Kinlochbervie on Friday morning and made good time around the Cape and onwards along the north coast, such that he made it through the Pentland Firth and made landfall in Wick this afternoon.
You can follow Chris's progress via his website at www.sailingroundbritain.com which includes a map tracking his journey.
Prior to leaving us Chris left behind a letter thanking everyone in Kinlochbervie for making him and Suzy (support team) so welcome and for all their help in getting him back on course.
