22-05-11 Whale on the Beach
The decaying carcass of a whale has been brought ashore by the tides on Oldshoremore Beach in the last few days.

Roughly ten feet long and missing its skull and jawbones, the remains are probably those of a Minke whale which are relatively common and one of the smaller species of baleen whale.

The corpse has been reported to the Scottish Strandings Officer at the Scottish Agricultural College in Aberdeen who may want to take samples or arrange for removal of the body.
