|The Lochinver and Thurso RNLI lifeboats and the Stornoway Coastguard helicopter were all scrambled yesterday evening in response to reports of a boat in difficulty close to Cape Wrath.|
The two man crew of the 18ft wooden rowing boat Green Cabbage Patch were struggling in to the shelter of Kervaig Bay when the heavy sea capsized their boat.
Both men were wearing life jackets and made it safely onto the beach where the helicopter was also able to land and provide assistance.
After being checked-out they decided to stay overnight in a nearby bothy before attempting to refloat their boat and continue on their way today.
They are taking part in an event called 'Row for Heroes' whereby they are raising money for injured army veterans, and had started this leg of their journey from the isle of Jura in the Inner Hebrides.
