|HM Revenue & Customs' Cutter Sentinel paid a visit to Kinlochbervie Harbour yesterday evening.|
The 34 metre vessel was built by Vosper Thornycroft and entered service in 1993. She is an Island class cutter.
Operated by the UK Border Agency, she is used for law enforcement around the UK's coastline and is designed specifically for anti-smuggling operations, fishery protection, search and rescue, anti-terrorist patrol of offshore installations and covert surveillance.
Sentinel spent the night against the north wall of the harbour before leaving again at 10:30am this morning.
Perhaps not surprisingly, she didn't appear on our AIS plotter.
HM Revenue & Customs also operate four other cutters: Seeker, Searcher, Vigilant and Valiant.
