21-03-09 Pole Star Pays a Call
[NLV Pole Star approaching Kinlochbervie]The Northern Lighthouse Board's vessel Pole Star paid a visit to Kinlochbervie yesterday evening.

Arriving just as the sun was setting, a check of the AIS logs shows she steamed up Loch Inchard before retracing her route and heading south down the coast, visiting Scourie and Lochinver en-route to Gruinard Bay.

Together with her sister ship, Pharos, the Pole Star spends her time servicing the various lights and lighthouses around the coast and islands of Scotland, and sometimes beyond.
