Community Project Co-ordinator
Full-Time 35 hours per week (Job Share would be considered)
Salary £24,000 per annum (pro-rata for Job Share)
This post is funded by LEADER and Highlands and Islands Enterprise and fixed until 30 November 2011. However it is anticipated that this post will continue beyond this date subsequent to future funding being secured.
Kinlochbervie Community Company – a locally elected company limited by guarantee – is looking to recruit an energetic and self-motivated individual to act as a catalyst for innovative and sustainable community development.
The successful candidate will work with the Company, and the wider community, to refine, further develop and implement a community growth plan, which takes account of opportunities to enhance the socio-economic, cultural & environmental welfare of the local area.
It is expected that the group will form a strong relationship with their local H.I.E. office and the wider Community Planning Body.
Support for this process will be provided by a nominated person within Highlands and Islands Enterprise, under their Growth at the Edge / Fas aig an Oir approach, which seeks to deliver intensive development of the most remote and disadvantaged communities within the Highlands and Islands.
The longer-term sustainability of the Kinlochbervie Community Company will also be a key objective as community capacity develops.
The applicant will have a good understanding of the issues affecting fragile rural areas and an aptitude for applying to external bodies for funding. It is essential the applicant is IT literate.
A relevant qualification or prior experience in community-led development would be advantageous, as would a knowledge and affinity for the locality.
The ability to work on your own initiative is essential.
