|The weather was predictably damp for yetserday's dedication of the memorial to Robert McBeath VC but that didn't stop around 50 people coming out for the event.|
George Doull recounted the story of Robert McBeath. Bagpipe tunes were provided by John Angus Morrison and Mark MacDonald. Tamara Laing, Elizabeth Morrison and Hugh Elrick each read poems and John Mann led the prayer. Bruce Coughlan sang a song penned specially for the occasion.
Afterwards people went back to the High School for a presentation of the life of Robert McBeath which featured a special message from the Vancouver Police Department.
In the evening Bruce again entertained us in the village hall with a selection of songs, old and new.
A selection of photos can be found in the Local History section of the Gallery.
