|A question I've been asked on numerous occasions by visitors to the area is 'Will I be able to connect my laptop to the internet?'|
So far the answer has usually been 'Maybe...'.
Some of the hotels offer this for residents and a local business has been experimenting with providing limited access for visiting yachts, but now a national company is offering up to 50 communities the opportunity to have a wireless internet 'Hot Spot' for free!
The full details are on the Freerunner Net Ltd website.
|The press release only came out today and the closing date for applications is 25 September 2009, with the lucky communities and charities being announced on 1 October 2009.|
A wireless internet hotspot would benefit not just tourists but visiting yachts, fishing crews and residents alike.
With time so short an application for Kinlochbervie has been speedily put together and submitted today - we can hammer out the details later.
We just have to wait now and see if we've been successful. Watch this space...
