|A public meeting will be held on Tuesday night to discuss the possibility of instigating a public transport service to Lairg that connects with the afternoon train.|
The meeting will take at 7:30pm on Tuesday, 12 March 2013 in Durness village hall.
Ivor Sutter from Highland Council will be present to talk to all interested parties, as will local councillor Hugh Morrison.
The proposal is for a means of public transport connecting the northwest with Lairg so as to make it possible to make a return trip to Inverness in just one day using public transport. At present it isn't possible to do so because there is no return service meeting the evening train at Lairg.
