|It's that time of year again when the combined forces of the Army, Navy, and Air Force descend upon our tiny corner of the UK.|
Firstly, we're received notice that a military exercise due to take place from 20 March to 1 April 2011, involvinghelicopters and ground troops.
Activity can be expected in Kylesku, Glendhu Forest area, Ben More Forest area, Lairg, Loch Shin area, Cape Wrath and Durness, Eriboll, and Kinlochbervie.
Out of hours flying has been authorised and noise disturbance may be experienced in some locations - which some of us are well aquainted with.
Ground elements of the exercise will deploy in conjunction with helicopter operations, and personnel will by carrying weapons and blank ammunition.
|Overlapping this comes another exercise: Joint Warrior (111).|
This is the familiar twice-annual exercise involving NATO forces on land, sea and in the air.
According to the Scottish Naval Exercise Area Information website, JW111 will run from 28 March until 15 April 2011.
As soon as we have it we'll publish the usual Notices to Shipping briefing document that advises shipping of submarine and firing range activities.
If anyone happens to take any photos of the military manouvres feel free to email them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
