|The coaster Fame arrive in Kinlochbervie yesterday evening.|
She's here to collect a cargo of feed for delivery to the fishfarms.
At more than forty years old Fame is a familiar sight around the Scottish coast.
Feed for the farms is brought to Kinlochbervie by lorry where it is stored until being transferred to a coaster for delivery to wherever it is needed.
Unusually for a vessel of her size, MV Fame doesn't transmit an AIS signal and so won't appear on our Minch Shipping page.
At other times of the year juvenile fish as brought here, again by road, and put aboard wellboats such as the Gripfisk or Viktoria Viking for transport to the fishfarms where they'll grow into adult fish.
