|There was another article in the national press yesterday featuring Kinlochbervie and the Primary School's quest for more pupils.|
This time it was the Scottish Daily Mail (04-05-2011), page 30.
Shorter than the article in The Times a few weeks ago, and with no pictures, it still serves to highlight the plight facing our village school and falling pupil numbers.
With only 19 pupils expected to be attending the primary school in September Highland Council will be reducing the teaching staff to just one full-timer and the school will be effectively labelled as 'full'.
Any children arriving in the village after that time will have to go to either Scourie, Durness or Achfary and persuading Highland Council that an additional teacher is required at some later will be an up-hill struggle.
Kinlochbervie has so much to offer families and we would urge anyone thinking of relocating to give some serious consideration and come and visit, but don't leave it too long.
Both articles are available in the Documents section of the website.
