|The British Army were coming under fire after blocking the Lairg-Laxford Bridge road at the weekend.|
Motorists were delayed whilst the army truck was recovered from a ditch after apparently just driving off of the road.
Questions were being asked about the level and quality of training given to the soldiers who drive these huge vehicles on our single track roads.
Two and a half years ago an army truck crashed through the parapet on the Laxford Bridge and blocking the road. The bridge was subsequently out of action to HGVs for a month, requiring them to follow a long and costly diversion via the north coast road. The MoD blamed that incident on poor sign-posting.
