01-08-12 What a load of rubbish!
It's been a month now since fortnightly council refuse/recycling collections began in Kinlochbervie and concerns have been raised over the amount of time between emptying of public waste bins around the area.

Most people seem to be managing OK for their household waste and recycling, where collections of each take place on alternate weeks, but with it being the tourist season public waste bins are quickly filling-up and being left overflowing or with waste being left on the ground where it can be spread about by the weather or animals.

This is particularly a problem at our beach carparks and at the start of the track to Sandwood Bay and one local resident this week collected a whole trailer-load of rubbish and took it to the skips for disposal.

The matter has been raised with the community council so hopefully a solution can be found but in the mean time if visitors can refrain from leaving large amounts of rubbish in the bins it would be appreciated. Rubbish skips are available for use down at the harbour.
