Some of the wildlife you may encounter in and around Kinlochbervie


Arctic Terns, Oldshoremore, Kinlochbervie. May 2010.

This Wheatear was spotted on Eilean na h-Aiteig, Oldshoremore, over the May Day Bank Holiday.

Joe Larter sent in these lovely photos of a Waxwing he saw in his garden this week.
These are very attractive birds and can often be seen in groups of a dozen or more.

Some of the many Greylag geese that been wintering at Kinlochbervie.

This little beastie is a Sea Slater (ligia oceanica), a common type of woodlouse found by the shore.
It was spotted on Polin beach in Feb 2010 and is about an inch long.

A Great Spotted Woodpecker that seems to have made it's home in Kinlochbervie.
